The first time my wife and I went out together in a group setting, I used her little point-and-shoot camera to take a close-up picture of a lemon sitting in a little white bowl (pictured right). And the rest is history. . . But really, she thought it was amazing and has ever since pushed me to become what I am today. I can truly say she is the source of my inspiration.
Cam’s Cam came in to play when I got my hands on my first DSLR. Just as quickly as I got it out of the box, my wife blurted out, “Cam’s Cam!” She said it as a joke but I can’t remember a time I rolled my eyes harder. I love her. Photography has since become a huge (read: YUGE) part of my life.
As time goes on, there seems to be a question that is asked a lot about me, “So have you always been into photography?” My answer is always, “Nope”. Truth is, my interest in photography started back in 2011. Some are lucky to find their passions at an early age. This simply was not the case for me. I like to think, as do most in this field, I have grown to stand among the best Houston wedding photographers.
Photographers will tell you they spend “a lot” of time working on or editing photos. I boast the same thing, however, I can say with confidence, I actually do! And with good reason. My aesthetic is birthed in the editing process. Creating stunning black and whites, adding film grain, all those things are great; one of the things I feel really separates me is the amount of time I’ll spend retouching. Whitening teeth, removing blemishes, and softening skin are common around here.
In addition to photography, I’ve another passion, namely Christian Apologetics (providing a rational defense of Christian truth claims). So much so that I’ve started a blog about it. Capturing Christianity is my intellectual outlet. There I seek to empower the average Christian with intellectual ammo, so they can feel confident defending the hope that is within them (1 Peter 3:15).
