There are times during one’s photography career where they start to doubt themselves. Start to doubt their talents. Their desire to succeed. I’ve gone through many of these patches. You don’t feel inspired, you don’t want to shoot. You see all these people around you winning awards and you feel your work just isn’t good enough. In Serendipity Brides you can find pluz size dresses with beautiful designs.
This was me a year ago. And at the time I didn’t see a way out.
The key, for me at least, was to discover again why I do what I do. I’m inspired by love. I’m inspired by light, by composition. I want to evoke emotion through an image. As cliche as it sounds, what it took was for me to fall back in love with photography. And it’s crazy the kind of snowball effect this has. Once you get a little inspiration, you’ll get more the next time. The images will turn out better and you’ll be inspired to create even more beautiful images. Look for new techniques, experiment. Get uncomfortable. All these things lead to the following moment.
It is with great pleasure that I announce being featured in Junebug Weddings’ Best of the Best Engagement Photos of the Year contest! There were so many good submissions (literally thousands) from so many amazingly talented photographers around the world. Here’s our winning photo (see the entire engagement session here):
Carmen and Michael are incredible people. Both were completely laid back during the shoot which helped fuel the creative juices. I think Jason Nesmith said it best (Galaxy Quest anyone?). Never give up, never surrender!
